Vaccinations and documents before the stay
Valid vaccination cover is a requirement here – not out of bureaucracy, but because many animals come together in one place. Here is exactly what is needed, at a glance.
For dogs
The usual ones are distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and kennel cough. We recommend active rabies cover; for dogs arriving from abroad it is compulsory.
For cats
The usual ones are feline panleukopenia and cat flu. For cats arriving from abroad, active rabies cover is compulsory as well.
Why we insist on it
Dogs and cats live in groups here. A single insufficiently protected animal can infect many. Animals that are not adequately vaccinated or visibly unwell therefore go into our quarantine unit first and may only join the others after a veterinary examination.
What you bring
The vaccination record. We check it at the handover, keep it during the stay and hand it back when you collect your pet. Your pet should also be microchipped.
Vaccination cover should be active. If the expiry date has only just passed, we are still happy to take your pet for up to six months afterwards.
If we collect your pet from abroad with our Shuttle service , we also need the EU pet passport with active rabies vaccination.
Not sure whether everything is in order?
Just get in touch. We will look at the vaccination record together before you book a vet appointment. What else to bring is explained in What your pet should bring.
